Progressive Label KX-TDE 100 Digital Phone System

Progressive label relocated in Commerce about 3 years ago into larger quarters to support their labeling business. There were some cubing issues that we corrected and created an organized infrastructure to help manage that area. They moved using a T1 for outside lines and about 35 of the KX-T7633 handsets. They also employed a KX-T7684 cordless cell phone for portability throughout the warehouse as well as shipping and receiving. They have the KXTDA100 as the heart of their communications system.

They also use the KX-TVA 50 voicemail system as the message center for their inside as well as their outside personnel. The KX-TVA50 voicemail system so a missed call is stored locally and immediately illuminates a big red light on the phone.

Notification can also call you a number of places to let you know you have a message waiting. An email can be sent to your smart phone with the voicemail message attached so you can listen to the message on your cell phone before you return the call. The Caller ID phone number is also sent to your cell phone.

Fleming Metal Fabricators KX-TD1232

Fleming Metal Fabricators have been using the Panasonic KXTD1232 Digital Telephone system for over a decade. Being in manufacturing, the environment for the phone system and the handsets are a bit challenging, but the entire system continues to serve them daily. They upgraded to the Panasonic KX-TVA 50 voice mail system when their old Callware system finally quit. Hard drives are like brakes and tires in that they quit. The voice mail system is now run on an SD chip so no moving parts.

Fleming metal fabricators are creative about any metal products from truck beds to hydraulic Reservoir tanks and much more.

Pico Metal Products KX-NCP1000

Pico Metal Headquarters

I first started servicing Pico Metal Products with a Mitel SX20 years ago. As time went on we replaced the aging Mitel with a Panasonic KXTD1232 and that was a stable entity. We used KX-T7200 series phones and as time went on we replaced them with KX-T7400 series set.

We replaced the Panasonic KXTD1232 with a Panasonic NCP 500 because we could immediately save money by using Broadvox SIP trunks instead of the cost of Verizon analog lines. Here, technology showed an upgrade to be a reduction of reoccurring costs and that prompted us into the Panasonic NCP500.

They are using the KX-TD346 sets on their LAN giving complete portability within the organization. The reduction in costs more than paid for the system upgrade. When the owner bought the KXTD1232, told him it would last a long time, but I could not have seen that technology would show it to be obsolete long before the end of its physical life. Today, that is more a reality than not if the platform does not easily allow for ongoing upgrades by Panasonic, the manufacturer.

Pico Metal Products was founded in 1919 in Downtown Los Angeles and has seen a lot of change over the years. The recent investment in technology will help to control operating costs keeping the company competitive and strong.

One of the many products they make is a small version of the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine for ice skating rinks.

Beta Benefits KXNCP1000

Beta Benefits was referred to me by Marc Winger of Zephyr Networks. They had a key system with each line set to ring to a different individual which gave them the ability to answer their own calls. The dial tone provider was also renting each line a voice mail box and initially that seemed like a reasonable path. As time went on, the Toshiba was getting hard to get parts for and there were a few other problems. If you were on your line and needed to make another call, whose line would you use? No matter whose, it was someone else’s which blocked direct access to their line and the incoming call that was meant for them. The missed call would go to voicemail but that was a delay as the way you found out you have a message is pick up your line and wait for the stutter tone. The other problem is that periodically they would bring in telemarketers to solicit the benefits to prospective new clients. When that happened, the telemarketers were constantly using dedicated lines to make the outgoing calls. This caused impairment in the call flow and again delayed prompt communication.

Having gone over the call processing plan in place and its shortcomings, we structured a Panasonic NCP1000 with KX NT346 sets and used the existing LAN to support the VOIP phones.  Relocation of the KX NT346 set anywhere in the two story early 1900’s historical house of the phones becomes easy as the structure has been wired with Cat 5 cable. There are also some parts that are available for tenants. We brought in a separate T1 using Telnes and SIP trunk from Broadvox. We are using DID’s for everyone so direct lines are not only retained, but a second call can come to the same person. Caller ID quickly lets you see the ID of the second caller and you can manage your call based on priority.

The KXTVA50 voicemail system so a missed call is stored locally and immediately illuminates a big red light on the phone. Notification can also call you a number of places to let you know you have a message waiting. An email can be sent to your smart phone with the voicemail message attached so you can listen to the message on your cell phone before you return the call. The Caller ID phone number is also sent to your cell phone.

We ran into a couple of surprises after installation. We found that the T1 was set up to be used as fail over for the DSL that was to be data only. We also experienced some unexpected bandwidth consumption with the use of a sling box on the network. We asked Mark of Zephyr networks to come in and implement some better control in that area and we now have a smooth running office at an immediate reduction in monthly reoccurring costs.

The Broadvox trunk is only $12.95 per line and we are using 8 lines. The lines will support any number so all parties share all lines as needed. Local calls free and $0.02 per minute for Long Distance. Failover goes to a cell should there be an interruption in service.

LA Roofing Materials

LA Roofing Materials has been with us for several years using the KXTD1232 Digital Panasonic System and most recently moved into the Panasonic NCP1000 implementing VOIP KX NT 346 phones. Their network shares not only the phones, but the computers and IP cameras. All of this gets along fine on a simple 100meg LAN. An easy to manage Linksys router and Telnes T1 are supporting his 8 SIP trunks from Broadvox.

The reduction in monthly operating costs showed a clear and profitable path to this solution. If there is any difficulty in the combined services, the calls are routed automatically to a designated cell phone so the customer’s calls do not go unanswered. A recent power outage tested the theory and his calls came directly to the cell phone until power was restored a short time later.

The flexibility of the VOIP phones poise to allow the senior members of the family owned and operated business to facilitate a home office should that become of interest in the future.

The KXTVA50 voice mail system answers a missed call and stores it locally then immediately illuminates a big red light on the phone. Notification can also call you a number of places to let you know you have a message waiting. An email can be sent to your smart phone with the voice mail message attached so you can listen to the message on your cell phone before you return the call. The Caller ID phone number is also sent to your cell phone.

External paging to the yard where roofing material is ready to go on the truck should the order require immediate delivery gets communication to the yard and drivers at the touch of a button.

System speed dial of 1000 numbers creates easy access to all personnel for both customers and vendors using alphabetic regardless of the location of entry into the system. Management of the system speed dial is easily achieved via Communication Assistant for the periodic updates of the system speed dial.

Gateway Plastering NCP 1000

Over the years we have installed Panasonic in gateway companies in the greater Riverside area. We have also relocated offices as they have geographically repositioned themselves to better serve their customers.

About a year ago, I got a call from corporate located in San Dimas telling me they were purchasing a building in Chino Hills and would be merging the Riverside plant and corporate into the larger facilities. We met at the new building and found the building to be well suited to a VOIP solution. We chose the new NCP1000 and a mix of KX NT 346 and KX NT 343 sets to support the new location.

By using the NCP1000 we could use Broadvox SIP trunks and reduce the cost of the phone service by more that the cost of the new system. We segregated the voice and data circuits and have a monthly cost reduction as well as a new system. We used the Netgear POE switch to make power to the VOIP phones quick and easy.

They also have the ability to use the Communication Assistant the allows easy visibility of all users as will as a chat feature to announce a caller when the called party is on the line or just add your order to the person going on the lunch run.

The system also supports an off site solution so the construction offices can have direct communication with the corporate office via the on site DSL. This keeps communication even when in a “bad cell area”.

The external paging allows access to employees when they are out in the yard. The construction yard houses several trucks and other construction vehicles and tools.

We added to the existing data cables as necessary and provided for the implementation of the digital phones used in the Riverside, Ca office that merged under the new larger facilities.

HPSI NCP 1000

HPSI has recently moved to Irvine down by the spectrum. For years the company ran on a Mitel SX-200 and various T1 providers. We have maintained that platform until the move at which time we cabled the new facility with Cat 6 data cable and multiple jacks at each location. We provided for the easy addition of network printers and any other network appliances that would better facilitate the operation of HPSI. We installed the NCP 1000 along with a variety of KX-NT 346 and KX-NT 343 sets, about 40 or so.

With Netgear POE Switches to power the VOIP phones, the operation is simple and relocation of staff is simple. The director of IT is very phone savvy and easily adopted the tasks of relocation of sets as well as first line of trouble shooting when someone inadvertently enabled a Do Not Disturb feature or disabled the call forwarding to voice mail.

The KXTVA50 voice mail system answers a missed call and is stored locally and immediately illuminates a big red light on the phone. Notification can also call you a number of places to let you know you have a message waiting. An email can be sent to your smart phone with the voicemail message attached so you can listen to the message on your cell phone before you return the call. The Caller ID phone number is also sent to your cell phone.

The Communication Assistant was a huge hit with reception as the visibility of all personnel was on the desktop where it could be easily managed. The click of a button would facilitate a transfer and there were no big clunky button gadgets on the top of her desk. Chat would allow her to notify a called party of an incoming call and advising her to put the call through or send it to voice mail based on the decision of the called party. This optimized the call processing implementing better time management for the staff of HPSI and making reception a better managed task.

HPSI is nationwide and the implementation of phones on the desktop for the representatives is on the radar of the IT director as a means of communication cost reductions.

Silky Sullivans KX-TDA50

The neighborhood bar.I met Dan and Rob of Silky Sullivan’s in Fountain Valley about 25 years ago through a member of Letip of West Orange County. The member, Bernie, asked me to see if I could help Dan as they were having problems with their old phone system. I put in a system that lasted about 10 years, and then replaced it with a Panasonic KX TDA50. The Panasonic is still going strong and other than the occasional handset and handset cord wear and tear, the system just keeps running. We have expanded the service of the system to support his offices along side of the restaurant.

If you ever want to visit a bar and get the “cheers bar” experience from the TV show, go to Silky Sullivan’s. They do have TV’s for sporting events playing so you can see the game during lunch, but the atmosphere is just plain friendly and the food is great. Check out the Sullivan’s Irish Sundae.

Beach Physicians KX-TDE 100

Beach Physicians

Beach Physicians joined Le Tip of West Orange County more than a decade ago. Many of us began using beach physicians as primary care and we continue the fine services of Dr Brender and Dr Aish. We installed a Digital Panasonic KXTD1232 shortly after Beach physicians joined, and a couple of years ago, we upgraded to the KXTDE 100 and the KXTVA50 voicemail system to support their daily communications requirements. We use an automated attendant to route calls to the appropriate scheduling nurse thereby expediting the call process for both the staff and the patient. We are currently using a PRI trunk and will be looking at the SIP trunk solutions as a path to optimize costs as well as flexibility of services. They use many digital sets as well as some VOIP sets to perform the communication requirements.

The KXTVA50 voicemail system answers a missed call and is stored locally and immediately illuminates a big red light on the phone. Notification can also call you a number of places to let you know you have a message waiting. An email can be sent to your smart phone with the voicemail message attached so you can listen to the message on your cell phone before you return the call. The Caller ID phone number is also sent to your cell phone.
